(More customer reviews)I got this to go in a ceiling fan in my office that's on at least 12 hours a day. Although I never dim the lights, the fan has a dimmer that ramps up the lights when turning them on, so regular CFLs don't work in it. This one works perfectly.
I have read that dimmable CFLs make noise when actually dimmed, but since I don't dim it anyway, this works well. I've gone through at least 2 regular bulbs in the second socket since I put this one in.
If the price would drop to under $10, I'd replace every dimming bulb in my house, but at $16 a pop, I can only really recommend these for applications where the light is going to be on 8+ hours a day.
Also to note is that the picture makes it look pretty small, however the bulb is massive. If it were any bigger, it wouldn't have fit in my fan with the glass shield around it. I actually don't know if I'd be able to put the shield on if I had 2 of these in the fan.
