(More customer reviews)This is a pretty good basic lamp. I am using it with CFL bulbs and it works well with 60w-equivalent ones, but when I put a 150w-equivalent in, it worked but was a bit tight and got kind of hot - this might shorten the CFL's lifespan.
The thumbscrews on the side increase or decrease resistance to swivel - they work well, but are plastic so I am not sure about their long-term durability.
I also do not like the on/off switch - it's one of those "rotating wheel box in the middle of the cord" things, and I prefer a simple back-forth switch box.
That said, the lamp is overall fairly good, if very simple (basically it's a metal can with a fixture in it on a swivel base). Don't expect any extra features and you'll be happy. It looks good how I have it on top of some high shelving as spot lighting.
There is also a spot on the bottom of the base for a screw head so you can wall mount it, but I have not used this feature so cannot comment on it.
