(More customer reviews)THE BAD: The bottom of the lamp base (black plastic with chrome cover) is not flat, therefore the lamp wobbles as it cannot sit on the floor in a stable position. Also the threaded connector that secures the top two sections of the lamp's body had to be forced into alignment. The switches do not inspire confidence that they will last and have cheap plastic knobs that make you want to slap the person responsible for specifying them. The foam packing will make you think a snowstorm hit your living room. Costs a lot more than a basic discount store lamp of similiar design.
THE GOOD: Looks just as nice as the photos indicate. Excellent finish on the wooden & metal parts and the glass is heavy and substantial. The gooseneck lamp is of very good construction and holds it's position well. It is very much a "task" light containing it's illumination to a small area. The dual switches allow you to turn upper and lower lamps on individually or together, with the upper having a high and low setting. The bulb sockets are heavy duty and handle plenty of watts to fully brighten my 10x12 room.
SO... a few lame parts keep this from being a really great lamp. Still, much better than cheapo discount store models. Most likely another unit won't have the warped base(???). Rather than re-pack and return it(please no more snow!) I'll add six black rubber 3/4" stick on discs to the base and level it up and super glue the knobs on. Recommended with reservation!

With its classic details and versatile uses, the Lexington combo lamp is a perfect choice for living rooms and studies. Combining a walnut-finish wooden pole with graceful satin steel accents, the lamp has an upper torchiere-style light and a lower adjustable reading light. The upper shade is made from a bowl of alabaster frosted glass, while the lower shade is a steel dome mounted on a gooseneck. Separate rotary switches control the lights individually, with high and low settings for the upper light. The gooseneck can be adjusted for both height and direction. Standing 72-1/2 inches high, the lamp is 11-1/2 inches at the base. It takes two 150-watt bulbs and one 60-watt bulb, which are not included. For a fully matched room, look for the Lexington desk lamp and floor lamp, also from Adesso.
