(More customer reviews)I bought this lamp for my 90 year old Grandmother. She has macular degeneration and was having trouble even with large print books. She is THRILLED with this product. The large magnifying glass has the proper orientation for reading and allows her to see the whole page, so there is no need to move the book around as she reads. The base is stable, so it is easy to move the top without knocking things over. Also, she likes that it is "not huge" and is not a big obstruction in her living room. She is now reading regular print books again - better than I had hoped this would turn out.
I can't tell you what a difference this has made in her life - it's the best present I have ever given. I recommend this for anyone facing challenges reading due to sight degeneration.
