(More customer reviews)As the description says, this lamp is brushed steel with white glass shades. The glass is frosted not glossy, is packaged well and arrived in Hawaii unbroken. If it can make it 2000 miles across the ocean, I'm sure its packed well enough. Its easy to assemble, with a simple "O" ring to attach the shade to the lamp, and three pieces of tubular steel to make up the stem of the lamp.
I use 3 CFL's in the lamp, and its nice because you can turn on one, two, or all three of the bulbs. There is no dimmer however. Other than that, its solid construction and I can see it lasting a long time. I am satisfied with my purchase for the price I paid (under a hundred) however if it were to exceed that, I might have considered other options.
